What We Do
Linn Benton Food Share (LBFS) distributes over 3 million pounds of food annually through a network of 68 local non-profit partners. Including food pantries, meal sites, gleaning groups, and supplemental agencies. LBFS is a proud member and Partner Distribution Organization of Oregon Food Bank, and an affiliate member of the Feeding America Network.
Linn Benton Food Share Tax ID: 93-1099406
LBFS is the central food hub for a strong network of local, non profit agencies including emergency food box pantries, public meal sites, at-risk population programs and gleaning groups.
We offer a variety of direct services to community members, partnered with local farms, grocery stores, and healthcare, in addition to our regional food distribution. Learn more below.
Gleaning is the practice of recovering food from farmers fields, grocery stores and even backyards. Learn more about gleaning and our specific programs.
Volunteer!
In addition to many volunteer opportunities at local soup kitchens and food pantries, Linn Benton Food Share needs volunteers to help with food repackaging at our warehouse, host or participate in a food drive/fundraiser, help with special events, and more!
Donate!
The most effective way to help in the fight against hunger is to donate money. For every dollar donated, Linn Benton Food Share can provide the equivalent of 6 meals to individuals and families in need.

We’re here to answer your questions and help you get started with Linn Benton Food Share.
Gleaning is the practice of recovering food left behind from fields that are not profitable to harvest. While it’s been around since biblical times, as a practical humanitarian activity today, gleaning contributes to the collection and distribution of high-quality food for low-income individuals and families that would otherwise go to waste.
Watch the video above from Philomath Community Gleaners, a program of Philomath Community Services, to learn more about gleaning here in our communities!
To join a gleaning group or learn more about other ways to support the gleaners, contact our Gleaning and Volunteer Programs Coordinator.
We believe that no one should be hungry. We believe that everyone deserves respect and attention. Services rendered through our network partners and our own direct service programs provide more than a food box, more than calories. We strive to provide dignity and hope.
We are committed to the proposition that good food for all means better health outcomes, builds important community bonds, and fosters an environment of worth for both the client and volunteer. Our true mission is discovering the capacity for compassion in our communities. As such, ours is a public trust of donor’s money, time and effort in addition to providing the simple relief of a welcome meal. Join us!
Emergency Food Boxes: Local food pantries provide a 3-5 day supply of food to individuals and families at or below the 300% of the federal poverty rate. These agencies serve an average of over 14,000 individuals per month.
