Students baked and decorated cakes and cupcakes just in time for Valentine’s Day, all while getting paid to learn skills that will serve them throughout life.
On Friday, Feb. 9, WorkSource Oregon in St. Helens and NECA-IBEW Electrical, which has a training center in Portland, hosted an apprenticeship forum at the St. Helens High School. Students and the public were invited, but the auditorium was filled mostly with students.
If you are graduating high school or tired of your desk job, WorkSource Oregon in St. Helens encourages you to stop by the apprenticeship forum at the St. Helens High School on Friday, Feb. 9, at 10 a.m.
Four high school students talked script and technique as they prepared to hold their first-ever auditions, which will be for an infomercial about their school, Career Tech.
CSC coordinators and volunteers are working this week and next to complete the Point In Time Count, an annual effort to take a census of people both inside and out of homeless shelters.
