This year, we are celebrating our 40 years of service in Linn, Benton and Lincoln Counties. Over that time, we have served more than 500,000 community members: enough people to fill every seat in OSU’s Reser Stadium 10 times over!
In celebration of this milestone anniversary, we will launch Five Days of Giving, a fundraising campaign this November 16-20. The first agency-wide fundraiser in our history!
As a public, not-for-profit organization, our work is supported by federal, state, and local grants, and private donations. However, we rely on the generous support of the community to help close the gap when funding and grants fall short of community needs – which is especially critical when we respond to emergencies, like this year.
“The scope and complexity of issues everyone is facing is beyond the ability of any one organization to address,” said our acting executive director, Pegge McGuire. “CSC, as your community action agency, is pleased to be able to help by delivering a wide range of programs as well as supporting our partners who do this critical work collaboratively. Each and every one of us is an important part of the resilience of our community.”
Donations will be used to continue the invaluable work we’ve been doing the last 40 years, as well as increased initiatives in response to the current economic challenges. This year, we have helped house over 1,400 individuals impacted by the pandemic, providing over $2.2 million in rental assistance. We have also provided over 109,000 pounds of food every week to Linn and Benton Counties since the start of the pandemic.
All of these important services and more would not be possible without the generous support of the community, because donations are the most effective way to support and contribute to our mission of helping people in our region access tools and resources to overcome poverty and build brighter and more stable futures!
