Community Services Consortium (CSC) Head Start of Lincoln County is proud to share the impact of recent funding supporting young children and families in Lincoln County.
Through support from Lincoln County’s Private Nonprofit Social Services Allocation Fund, Head Start of Lincoln County received a grant of $4,125 to expand access to mental health consultation and behavioral supports during the 2025–2026 program year.
This funding supported partnerships with local providers to deliver services in Head Start classrooms and with families. A mental health consultant conducted classroom observations, collaborated with staff to develop strategies supporting children’s social-emotional needs, and provided program-wide trainings focused on self-regulation and behavior support. Families were also engaged through a parenting workshop at the Lincoln City site, where participants learned strategies to support their child’s social-emotional development at home.
In addition, the grant supported targeted “skills-building” services for children needing more intensive support. A mental health professional worked one-on-one with four children in the classroom setting to build skills in areas such as self-regulation, friendship development, and executive functioning.
As a result of these efforts:
- Teaching staff strengthened their ability to implement strategies that support children’s mental health
- Children received individualized support to help them succeed in the classroom
- Families gained tools to reinforce social-emotional development
These services helped Head Start of Lincoln County continue providing high-quality, wraparound support to children with varying levels of need.
We are grateful for community partnerships that make this work possible and will continue seeking opportunities to sustain and expand these services in the future.
