Community Services Consortium (CSC) Head Start has been awarded a $5,250 grant from the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund (STCCF) to help purchase classroom supplies that support inclusive learning environments for children with disabilities, developmental delays, sensory needs, and mental health challenges.

CSC Head Start serves children and families across Lincoln County through comprehensive early childhood education, health, and well-being services that promote school readiness, healthy development, and family well-being. The program’s inclusive approach ensures all children, regardless of ability or circumstance, have access to high-quality educational experiences and their families receive essential supports during integral development stages. Head Start staff work closely with families to understand each child’s strengths, interests, and areas where additional support may be helpful. Through ongoing observation and individualized planning, teachers create learning experiences tailored to children’s developmental needs.

The grant award will support this mission by funding specialized classroom materials and tools that help teachers meet the unique needs of every child. Supplies could include sensory materials, noise-canceling headphones, weighted comfort items, communication supports, adaptive learning tools, and other resources designed to help children regulate emotions, develop essential skills, and fully participate in classroom activities.
